Congratulations to Coach Chris Tapia and his 2011 OC Surf North Girl’s team for a 2nd place finals finish at the Toyota of Orange Classic Tournament this weekend.
The girls started off strong on Saturday with a back to back shutout performance, followed by an exciting Sunday morning nail-biter where they led until 5 minutes left in the 2nd half against a very experienced, 3 time-tournament winning opponent. Their stellar efforts led them to compete in the finals and receive medals for runner up honors.
Coach Tapia and the girls can attribute much of their 2019 growth to a spring season, where they stayed dedicated and tough against a superior 2009-2010 field. The team looks forward to future success this fall as the core focuses on their 2nd full season together. Go Surf!
