Mission Statement
Rangers FC South Soccer Club will strive to develop technically sound players with a thorough understanding of the game and the ability to perform at a high level during pressure situations.
Our Philospohy
It’s not only about winning. It’s about teaching, growing, and developing the skills necessary to compete at the college level and beyond. Ranger FC South wants to develop technically sound players with a vision of how the game should be played.
We strive to win without sacrificing learning. We want players to build a base that will empower them during critical early stages of development. Desire, attitude, intensity, character, and accountability are but a few of the traits we look for and will develop in our players.
In the end, we do not wish to be judged by how many championships were won or lost. We want to be judged by how our players matured and developed into not only college caliber soccer players, but also great people. Ultimately, we want our success to be measured by the number of Rangers FC players that participate in soccer at the collegiate level and by the success our players achieve in all aspects of their lives.
Our History
The Rangers FC South Soccer club was started to provide an arena where players could train and perform at a high level as well as develop the necessary elements needed under pressure situations. The club was founded in 1998 as the Panther Soccer Academy (PSA). PSA changed to Canyon PSA in the Spring of 2001.
Teaching soccer to kids in the Anaheim area and (Orange Unified School District) but we also welcome kids from nearby cities (Yorba Linda, Fullerton, Villa Park and Brea). We are now a franchise of San Diego Surf.
Our club will now be part of one of the best Club programs in the United States. Being a part of Surf will give our players access to both Academy (on the boys side) and ECNL (on the girls side) programs in addition to the newly formed EGSL league for girls. We develop teams and individuals by attempting to place them in challenging situations, in order for them to raise their game to the highest level.
We strive to win but never above the development of our players. Our goals are long term. We truly believe in the development of our players. Our player’s development will always be the clubs top priority. Of course our road is challenging and our players make mistakes in their pursuit of excellence, mistakes that may seem discouraging at a young age. Those mistake though, will help build the foundation of our club in the future.
Our club started with two teams (BU10 and BU12) in 1998 and has grown to 18 teams. We commit to our players for the entire playing season (June through State/National Cup) and ask that parents/players do the same. We run two tournaments throughout the year to fund equipment, tournaments, lights, financial assistance, day to day operations of the Club and to keep player fees manageable. We also have a coach’s development/training program that ensures that all of our kids will receive the same quality training. We put a lot of pride in this training program, because we truly feel that our kids will only be as good as our coaches that teach them.
Rangers FC is dedicated to providing a program that will keep our talented soccer players in our area, develop top soccer players for our high schools, and prepare our players to succeed at the highest level both academically and athletically.
