THIS YEAR’S BACK TO SCHOOL KIT CAMPAIGN

Our goal this year is 800+ boxes.
If every Team participates, we can easily exceed our Goal!!

Turn in your boxes to your Team Admin by August 2nd.

Also if you need you can drop boxes off at the Rangers FC South Office before 8/2/2024. Friends, Family members, neighbors that would like to join the cause, can make a donation online and Rangers FC South will purchase boxes on their behalf.   Here is the link to share.

These items can be purchased at the Dollar Tree, Target, or Walmart, Staples.  At the Dollar Tree, this box will cost about $1 per item. Our goal is to surpass last year’s goal of 500 boxes to various schools in Orange Unified School District.  Don’t do this alone, get your friends and neighbors to donate a box.

DON’T FORGET… for every one box donated you can earn one service hour for your highschooler.  Please bring your form with you on the drop off day or it can be emailed to  info@rangersfcsouth.org and then picked up once filled out.

In addition, we have garnered the support of the Chapman University Men’s soccer team.  They understand the importance of giving back to the community and are very excited to help make a difference.

Thank you in advance Rangers families for helping children in the OUSD get supplies they will need this year for school.   If you have any questions please reach out to info@rangersfcsouth.org

How this program started

I’m not sure if everyone knows that I grew up in our community, more specifically, the city of Orange. This community has helped me grow into the person I am today. There are many people who provided me with various types of support. My teachers, coaches, counselors, and employers among others, have all contributed and supported me along the way.

During the pandemic, I was thinking about how difficult it must be for families today that are similar to mine growing up. Living paycheck to paycheck, the stress of losing their jobs, not understanding how the education system worked, having to support their children’s education with limited skills, and possibly having limited English skills as well. My parents would have been in great despair during this time.

Long story short, I wanted to find a way to give back to parents in our school district that might be struggling. I believe we that we are a club that has been willing to support those in need in the past. This may not change their lives, but it can take a small burden off their hands. I would like us to help some of these families by providing a “Back-to-School box” kit. We would provide families in need with some basic supplies for their elementary school aged kids while they are learning at home at the beginning of school.
