EDDIE CARRILLO
CAMP DIRECTOR
The Panther Soccer Camp is staffed by professional and collegiate coaches & players, and is under the direction of the Director of Soccer and Men’s Head Coach at Chapman University, Eddie Carrillo.
Eddie has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems
from Chapman University, a Master’s in Education from Claremont McKenna College, and currently teaches math at Villa Park High School.
In his soccer career, Eddie played one year at Cal State Fullerton before transferring to Rancho Santiago College where he earned All-Conference honors on a team that was ranked #1 in the country. Eddie finished his soccer career at Chapman University helping the team receive an at large bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament in his senior year.
As Director of Soccer at Chapman University, the Panthers experienced a resurgence, earning at least 10 wins in eight of the past 10 seasons, including two NCAA playoff appearances (2009, ’11) and a berth in the SCIAC Tournament finals in 2013 and 2014. His teams have finished .500 or better in 12 of his 19 seasons, and he has coached 12 All-Region selections, 12 Academic All-District VIII selections and an Academic All-American.
Before coaching at Chapman, Carrillo previously had a distinguished career as a high school coach. He established a powerhouse program at Orange High, winning three league championships and being named Orange County Coach of the Year. He has also coached in the California Olympic Development program (ODP), The UCLA Elite High School camps and the College Soccer Academies.
In addition to all of this, Eddie has been the Director for Anaheim Surf Soccer Club since he founded it in 1996. It started out with 2 boys teams and has grown to 25 Girls & Boys teams, U8 – U18.
